Prior service. It is where the habit of doing the unglamorous part correctly came from, and it came first.

Years running franchise stores: labour, food cost, hiring, the schedule, the inspection, the P&L. Multi-unit operations is a job where the plan meets a Friday night, and the Friday night wins unless the system is real.

I built the operations software those stores ran on.
Not bought, not commissioned — written by me, and used every day by the people I managed. That is the whole reason I build the way I do now: I have had to use my own software on a bad shift, and there is no better editor than that.

Ruzylo is a Ukrainian name, and it is kept that way here — not as a theme, just as a fact that does not get sanded off.
A kreska is a diacritic: the small acute stroke a language puts over a letter to say this one is not what you assumed. It does not shout, it does not decorate, and it is not optional — drop it and the word is a different word.
I took it as the mark for this address because it is the most accurate thing I could say about how I work. Find the small true correction, make it once, clearly, and then leave it alone. The page you are reading is built to the same rule: one stroke of colour, one moment of movement, no second act.
The mark appears exactly twice on this page — once in the header, once in the colophon. A mark in every band starts to look like a logo somebody paid for, which is the impression this identity exists to avoid.
